    I own lots of molds from expensive silicone molds where you cast the resin straight to a pen tube, down to lowly pieces of plastic pipe. The pipe are my favorite molds.       I'd probably go with Tyvek tape on top of the melamine then whichever mold release is made to work with the resin you are using. I usually use Stoner brand releases, and either the Thermoset version for epoxy or the Urethane version for Alumilite Clear.
